Known for his philanthropic projects in the previous years, the Museum Prince Lawrence “Lance” Li Tan was voted in as 2021 Local Organization Chapter President of JCI Makati. He has been with the organization for three years and has done several sustainable projects for JCI Makati. He was inducted last February 6, 2021. Lawrence Tan and his board of directors took their oath with JCI Philippines’ inducting officer, Area Vice President Gino Jaralve, which took place in Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, while the charging was done by JCI’s Regional Vice President Karen Romarate via recorded video.
The said event was taped as live and was shown via JCI Makati’s facebook page. The strategy made the local organization divert the event fund to do projects that will benefit more Filipino people.
His biggest projects like Positive Impact on Nation’s Change (P.I.N.C.) Week last November 2019 was composed of 19 projects that were done in a span of one week. The same culminated with a P.I.N.C. Congress which was attended by more than 5,000 youths from different colleges and universities in Metro Manila that it has become an annual major event of JCI Makati to reach more youths and address their immediate issues in the society. At the height of the pandemic last year, Lance chaired the JCIdeas, where known established businessmen and personalities were invited as speakers in encouraging the Filipino entrepreneurs and workers to pivot on the new normal brought by the pandemic.
Lance’s passion in tourism, being one of the key tourism advocates and helping the underprivileged sector expand not only to the out of school youths, but is now on a per barangay or community level. Lance’s major projects focuses on the 17 goals of United Nation’s Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG). His life revolves with his love for the country by doing his own initiative in promoting the Philippines that he was also hailed as Tourism Business Innovator last year. It was his long-term goal to help the country bring in more investments by promoting tourism thereby creating more jobs for the Filipinos. This goa led him to his main business Lakbay Museo, which is located inside S Maison Mall in MOA Complex, Pasay City is one of the most frequented attractions by both locals and foreign tourists. Here, the Museum Prince showcased the key destinations of the country, regional festivals, ethnic costumes, regional cuisines and culture, collection of Philippine fabrics, grains and beans in just 1,000 steps.
Tan ended 2020 with a three-peat Asia Leader Award last November 20, 2020 held in Makati Shangri-La Hotel. He also brought home not only the major award, but also the Tourism Excellence Award, and Innovative Businessman of the Year.
Lance sees and treat JCI Makati as his platform of opportunity to help our countrymen and continue his advocacy in creating more young leaders. As what the Museum Prince said during his induction ceremony, “It is both a privilege and humbling to be the 2021 President of JCI Makati.”
2021 JCI Makati President Lawrence Li Tan is also the CEO and President of The Millennial Concept Factory Inc., the makers and management group of interactive art installations like Lakbay Museo and Tales of Illumina among others.
