To help Filipinos cope with the pandemic, the Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCIP), a nonprofit organization of young active citizens age 18 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their communities, launched a national project called JCIdeas. This project’s goal is to expand people’s knowledge and learn from various guest speakers who are leaders in their respective industries.
Officially launched last August 27, 2020 via a live webinar, the launch event discussed the hottest topics in the business arena, which included business turnaround and family business governance, recovering the losses companies incurred amid the pandemic, the future of finance, the government and the private sector, and the importance of upskilling and refocusing to achieve a paradigm shift in business.
Among the esteemed speakers at the event were ASEAN Business Turnaround Advisor to the World Bank Professor Enrique Soriano, President of the SM Development Corporation Jose Mari Banzon, Kim Henares, the former Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner of the country, and Nelly N. Dillera, OIC- Executive Director of the DTI-Philippine Trade Training Center.
The National Chairman of JCIdeas is the 2020 Executive Vice President of JCI Makati, Lawrence Li Tan. Guided by their core philosophy, the JCI Philippines believe that they are responsible for creating sustainable impact, which ensures human security.
